Forever Held
The brief
A tranquil, off-grid bush retreat on a working dairy farm, built so grieving parents have somewhere quiet to stay, at no cost to them.
The cabin is built around rest. A stone fireplace with a wood heater anchors the open-plan living space beneath a cathedral ceiling, rustic timber runs through the joinery, and a freestanding bath sits beside a window looking out over the paddocks.
Outside, a covered verandah and fire pit look across the farm and down to Brucknell Creek. The retreat runs off-grid with solar on the roof, and its timber shiplap cladding lets it settle quietly into the landscape.
The retreat is run by the Forever Held Foundation, a charity supporting bereaved families. If you, or someone close to you, could use a quiet place to stay, you can find out more on their website.
